Analytical Balances
Highly precise laboratory balances for measuring mass, typically designed with an enclosed measuring pan to avoid the influence of dust and air currents; may include vibration resistance, data transfer, automation, and capacity range options.
Analytical balances are a category of scientific scales or laboratory balances used for exacting weighing applications of small amounts of material in the laboratory, in educational environments, in the wider industrial workplace, or any environment requiring fast and accurate weighing performance. A wide range of models are available with defined weighing ranges, readabilities, accuracies, and repeatability.
Depending on the model, analytical balances are typically designed with weighing capacities from 1 mg up to 200 g, with readabilities between 0.1 mg to 0.01 mg or better. Micro-analytical balances are used for weighing much smaller amounts of material, from 0.1 mg upwards.
Analytical balances are often used in combination with sample containers such as weighing papers, dedicated spatulas for sample handling and transfer, and calibration weight sets.

How Are Analytical Balances Used?
• Routine weighing of chemicals or other samples
• Dynamic weighing of unstable specimens such as liquids, small animals, or insects
• Counting of parts, tablets, or other small items and components
• Percentage weighing for rapid, more efficient formulations, especially useful in chemical and pharmaceutical applications
