Description

Remove high concentrations of sulfate from sample matrices Improve ion chromatography (IC) performance and facilitate low-level ion analysis. Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ OnGuard™ II Ba Cartridges are an off-line sample preparation technique that uses a styrene-based, sulfonic acid resin in the barium form to eliminate these matrix interferences and improve performance of ion chromatography (IC). Use them singly or in series, or pretreat up to 12 samples in parallel using the optional Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ OnGuard™ Sample Prep Station.

For reproducible, quantitative determinations in low-ionic-strength samples, activate these cartridges by adding NaCl or other sodium salt. Samples treated with NaCl should be passed through an On-Guard II Ag cartridge to remove the added chloride, then passed through an OnGuard II H cartridge or MetPac™ CC-1 chelating column to remove residual silver counter ions.
