Description
Thermo Scientific™ EZ-Link Alkoxyamine-PEG4-Biotin is a biotinylation reagent containing a four-unit polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer for biotinylating macromolecules at carbohydrate groups that have been oxidized to form aldehydes.
Highlights:
Biotin – label macromolecules for detection or affinity purification with avidin and streptavidin
Alkoxyamine-activated – reacts with aldehyde groups (e.g., oxidized sugars in glycoproteins) to attach biotin by stable oxime bonds
Polyethylene glycol – PEG groups are flexible, non-immunogenic, hydrophilic, and improve the solubility of labeled antibodies
Spacer arm – the reach between the point of attachment and the biotin affinity tag is nearly 27 angstroms, sufficient to minimizing steric hindrance for binding
Specifications:
- Chemical formula: C18H34N4O6S

- Spacer arm: 27.0 angstroms
- Net mass added to target: 416.53
- Form: white solid
