Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (66%), Rat (66%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-57169 (PA5-57169. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fetuin family, part of the cystatin superfamily of cysteine protease inhibitors. Fetuins have been implicated in several diverse functions, including osteogenesis and bone resorption, regulation of the insulin and hepatocyte growth factor receptors, and response to systemic inflammation. This protein may be secreted by cells.
