Description

Recombinant Protein

It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. It is recommended that sterile water (1000 μL) be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 1 mg/mL. Concentration is measured by UV.

This gene is a member of the leukocyte immunoglobulin-likereceptor (LIR) family, which is found in a gene cluster atchromosomal region 19q13.4. The encoded protein belongs to thesubfamily B class of LIR receptors which contain two or fourextracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, andtwo to four cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitorymotifs (ITIMs). Several other LIR subfamily B receptors areexpressed on immune cells where they bind to MHC class I moleculeson antigen-presenting cells and inhibit stimulation of an immuneresponse. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoformshave been found for this gene.
