Description

Designed for ESR determinations without needing to open the tube. BD Vacutainer™ ESR Seditainer™ Tubes are 5mL glass tubes containing buffered sodium citrate for use with the BD Seditainer™ Manual Stand. Tubes are available with a black Hemogard™ or conventional closure.

The BD Vacutainer™ system is a closed system optimally designed and tested for controlling pre-analytical variability throughout the specimen collection and handling process. BD Seditainer™ tubes are designed for ESR determination without having to use a sedimentation pipette.
  • Whole blood is drawn directly into the evacuated glass tube
  • Tubes are mixed by inverting the tube 180° and back, 8-10 times
  • Up to 10 tubes are placed directly into the BD Seditainer™ Manual Stand
  • There is no need to remove the tube stopper and pipette or transfer the sample
  • Results can be read after 60 minutes; results correspond to the Westergren method
  • BD Seditainer™ Manual Stand holds up to 10  tubes and has a height adjustable zero mark
