Description
For reconstitution, add sterile, distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of 1 mg/mL. Gently shake to solubilize the protein completely. Do not vortex. Reconstituted products should be stored at -80 °.
Garivulimab, also known as BGB-A333, is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1, also known as CD274). CD274 is a gene encoding a protein critical for immune checkpoint regulation. Located on chromosome 9, this protein is expressed on the surface of various cell types, including tumor cells, immune cells, and normal tissues. PD-L1 interacts with the PD-1 receptor on T cells to modulate immune responses, particularly by promoting self-tolerance and preventing autoimmunity. In the context of cancer, aberrant expression of CD274 allows tumor cells to evade immune surveillance, leading to immune escape. This mechanism has made CD274 a significant target for cancer immunotherapies, particularly immune checkpoint inhibitors such as pembrolizumab and nivolumab, which block the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction to restore anti-tumor immunity. Research on CD274 continues to reveal its role in various malignancies and its potential as a prognostic and therapeutic biomarker.
