Description

Isolate Pseudomonas spp. from food, water, pharmaceutical and environmental samples with this selective, ready-to-use medium.

Selectively isolate Pseudomonas species from food, water, pharmaceutical and environmental samples with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Pseudomonas C.F.C. Selective Agar. The medium is designed to be selective for Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Pseudomonas spp. generally. It is a modification of King's A Medium1 and contains magnesium chloride and potassium sulphate to enhance the production of pigments. The medium also allows detection of Burkholderia cepacia (formerly Pseudomonas cepacia), an important opportunistic pathogen in water systems 3.

Use Pseudomonas C.F.C. Selective Agar for the isolation of Pseudomonas spp.

  • Select for Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Pseudomonas spp.
  • Allows detection of Burkholderia cepacia within water systems used for pharmaceutical and cosmetic preparation.
